Forrest Yoga has been developed by Ana Forrest as an intelligent method to help people in our modern day world suffering from tight necks and shoulders, lower back stiffness and pain. In Forrest Yoga, we realise how much unnecessary tension we are placing in our necks and we learn to relax our necks and let go of what we are holding and burdening our shoulders with.
Breath, Strength, Integrity, Spirit.
The four pillars of Forrest Yoga are Breath, Strength, Integrity and Spirit. Forrest Yoga is indeed strengthening, and each pose is practised with integrity, keeping the core and lines of energy engaged. The breath and awareness of the breath is vital to help the student to go deeper into the pose.
I have recently completed a Foundation Teacher Training with Ana Forrest and it was one of the best things I have done for myself. I came back a stronger person physically and mentally, learning how to ‘snuggle up to my fears’ instead of running away from them.
I realised after the training that being a Forrest Yoga teacher is what I have always wanted to do – I cannot see myself doing anything else. As a massage therapist, I love and appreciate the hands-on assists that Forrest yoga teachers give their students, mindfully approaching the student and supporting them to go deeper into the pose.
Private one to ones and small group classes at your home
One to ones offer a totally personalised class where we can work on your individual needs. Whether you are looking to heal an injury and become stronger, a more restorative practice or work on a specific technique. You will receive complete attention and hands-on assists which are not always possible in a bigger class.
